Homeward Bound Month 6 Completed |
Why is it that sometimes inspiration seems all around you and other times it's nowhere to be found? I spent the last week finishing up the Homeward Bound Month 6 - 24 star blocks. A lot of the work was really about precision piecing and pressing. None of it very innovative. So now when it's time to put my creative hat back on, I'm having a hard time making the switch!
For months now, I've known I needed an inspirational picture for my upcoming Timna Tarr's stitched mosaic quilt class. I've had ideas on themes - cultural, political, nature, architechtural - local sighhhhh None of them though, have jumped up and slapped me across the face saying, "Make me! Make Me!"
I've been stuck on finding an inspirational photo before but I don't think not quite this bad.
Here are some contenders that didn't make the cut and my worries about them....

The Plaza Cinema, Erie, PA Interesting lines, but I'm worried that the mosaic technique won't give it the pazazz it really needs |

I really love this one, but it will need a LOT of editing and a good crop

I love this one, but once you do a political piece what do you do with it? Also, it's a bit sad and I like to make things pretty and happy (yes real artists do that sometimes - grin!)
Just writing them all out just shows me how little I care for any of them. So what I'm going to do is keep this short, put on a good book and search the wide world web until I find something I like!
Oh, and the good news of the day...my daughter Tessa's book was officially funded and will be published! She's all happy to have her own Amazon and Goodreads page. She writes under Tess Carletta.
So those are my troubles....
What Have You Been Up to Creatively?

I think your Homeward Bound block is beautiful! I love the colors, it's so bright and happy!
Kudos to Tess for getting her book funded. You must be very proud. Good luck on selecting you next inspirational image.
