I have a confession. I'm a bit of a Pinterest junkie. Now, I'd love to tell you that I use Pinterest to help research projects and collect inspirational images - which I do - buttttttttt - its way more that. I love Pinterest as a place to play with pretty pictures. Yes, I was one of those little girls that liked to cut out pictures from magazines and then glue them all back together as "collages". And now Pinterest
lets my adult myself do that - virtually.
Still that said, I do use it for research and its proven quite handy. This weekend, I finally started a board where I can pin images for Elizabeth Barton's Master Class. If this month is any indication, I'll going to have to do a lot of research for class and its time I get organized. I started with pinning images of slab rocks.
Slab rocks are so interesting - the veins create so much texture - just begging to be replicated onto fabric with thread. So who am I to argue with a rock? I all of Sunday quilting up my slab rocks for January's assignment. At first I had no idea really what I was doing so that's where Pinterest came to the rescue. Its amazing how quick and easily you can find just the right images you need to get yourself rolling.
Anyways, the quilt is coming along nicely and hopefully - fingers crossed! - I'll finish by the 31st deadline.! Thank God this isn't a month with only 30 days. (Oh my, what am I going to do in Feburary?)

Your "Slab Rock" quilting is so cool! Love it!
Wow! This looks very interesting. I love the textures your quilting is making. You are doing an awesome job!!!
I love the slab rock concept here and your quilting is adding just the right texture. Scrolled back through your post to pick up on your process and you were right to edit when you did, so much better now. I'm a new follower, I want to see where you you go from here. I found you from Design Wall Monday.
Um...our church has been looking at samples of flooring to replace the existing floor in our hall...and the impression of stone is very popular these days...Your renderings are very accurate!
Slab quilting! Now that is neat! Good luck on your finish!
Love it! I have missed you lately. I am back and working again! And it feels so good.
This is coming along beautifully! I love the texture your quilt gives the stones. I don't know if I will finish my quilt for the class this month. I'd be delighted if I got it to the somewhat quilted stage even!
