Another Sign - Another Design Wall Monday

Now granted this is not the most colorful project I've ever done.  Usually it is the color that draws me to a project.  Maybe its because I live along Lake Erie and it tends to be gray here in the winter - very gray.  Still this Signs, Signs piece has captured my passion and I've been having a ball doing them.

I completed the "Field Close" this week  - along with the detailing on the other signs.  Its funny how some days at work I have a ton of time to stitch and others  my fingers are so busy placing orders that I don't even touch the needle.  Still most of the time I can get a few stitches in here and there.

I'm onto my 5th piece - the "End is Near" Guy.  This is a popular thought among some Christians I know.  Now, I wouldn't say that I'm one of them - since people have always thought that they lived in the decade of the second coming.  I mean, even the Disciples thought it.

And since the end of the world is not  near, I better make sure that I get crackin' this week because I have two deadlines that definitely are.  The Ladies need to be done by March 9th and Signs are due March 24th.

Do I always neeeedddddd to bring it to the last minute??

What is the "signs" project and what is it trying to say? I used to enjoy hand embroidery but now when I am sitting I either have a dog/cat or a computer on my lap so my hands can't work with fabric/thread/needle. :-(

I did one tiny piece of redwork for a row quilt, and now I find myself looking at patterns. It was fast and fun. Love the signs!

For a certain segment of the population, the "End is Near" each day. So, it never hurts to be ready for it. I think that deadlines are a good thing, they keep us on track. So, get busy.

Can't wait to see this come alive. And yes, apparently you do always need to bring it to the last minute! Good luck...keep plodding along!

I'm the same way - nothing motivates like a looming deadline!! Can't wait to see the "Signs" all finished.

I do like how this is coming along. It makes me really think about what I have seen for signs.

Recently: "I will work for food" it is a very sad position for the involved people, but it was a guy with a sign.
