Off the Wall Fridays! - Our First Link Party!

Welcome to our very first link party.   I've seen this kind of thing done on a couple of different traditional quilt blogs and thought it was a fabulous idea for a primarily art quilt forum.  It really helps me stay motivated if I know I'm going to have to share it with the crowd. A big Thank You goes out to Rayna for coming up with the title - it always helps to brainstorm with someone smart!

Diva's Bathing Suit Dilemma

Soooo first. . . .
I have - wait for it - finished the design on the bathing beauties. I'm so glad!  I've been in such a rut lately and this design has come really hard this month.  Still - I'm all happy with the finished results even if that last beauty was so finicky about what suit she was going to wear - Diva! I mean, seriously!  First she tried out two perfectly good Liberty of London suits (Does she realize that that fabric is $32/yd these days?)  Then, I  gave her three different options to look at without actually trying them on.   Finally I had to show her whose boss and picked out a print from the now defunct Rose & Hubble - I mean - its not a nudie beach, after all is it?!  I'm thinking that this fabric worked because it had the proper scale of print.  So now the suits have one large print, one small print and one medium.

Now I just have to put a million pins in it and sew it down with some nice invisible thread.  I'm solidly in the "No Fuse" camp - not that there is anything wrong with Fussers - some of my best friends are fussers - giggle.  And let me tell ya, when I'm getting stabbed for the millionth time with one of my sharp silk pins while sewing this baby down, I'll be wishing I had let Melody Johnson talk me right into fussing!

Thanks everyone - I'm thankful that this worked out easily and everyone will be able to show their work.

Lisa, funny you mentioned that - my dh said to me, "Those girls have a little bit of booty on them" I turned around rubbed my bottom and said - Don't we all! LOL!!
