First the Finish - Yes - finally I finished the quilting on Fall. I still have to block and face it, but I'm going back to blocking my quilts pinned to my bedroom carpet. The last two times I did it on my design board they didn't stay flat. Still - I'm moving this one to the Finish column.
Secondly, as I was thinking on what I want to do next, it occurred to me that my friend, Sandy's Open Studio is fast approaching. Last year, it was a huge success and it would be nice if I had some nice things to offer. I've had a few ideas for smaller pieces that I would like to see come to fruition and this would be a perfect excuse. Now that said - I gotta find the time!
And finally - a surprise challenge! I've been on the wanting to try out one of C&T Creative Troupe challenges and I finally got picked. They are asking us to take a piece of 20" by 36" Evolon Interfacing and create something. Needless to say, I'm going to have to step out of the little cotton box I've built around me! The deadline is soon - about a month away - so stay tune!
All of this AND we are in the middle of Fall rush at work. I've been putting in extra hours since I love my job and the over time is nice. If anybody ever buys clothes from Appleseeds, The Tog Shop or Drapers and Damon's you might end up talking to me!!
So what have you been up to Creatively??
I love Fall! The quilting really enhances the piece! Congratulations on getting selected for the challenge, can't wait to see what you come up with!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt looks great, never heard of the C&T challenge, glad you mentioned it. Good luck, you'll come up with something cool.

There's not a darn thing I don't love about this quilt!!!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to see what you come up with on the challenge and your quilting on the fall piece is exquisite. I liked it before but now love it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt! Congratulations about being selected to work with the Evelon interfacing. That should be fun to work with!
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done. I love gridded quilts.
ReplyDeleteNicely done and finished just in time for this glorious Fall weather. Your quilting is the icing on the cake.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for doing the "Off the Wall Friday". It has brought me to blogs I might not have seen and brought new viewers to my blog.
Fall is beautiful... the colors and shapes feel like the season. Congrats.
ReplyDeleteHey, neat! I love the colors and shapes in Fall. (What is "facing" a quilt?)
ReplyDeleteThanks!! Facing is finishing the edge of the quilt like traditional bias binding but you don't see that additional "binding" line around the edge. Its pulled to the back so its invisible to the front. Alot of art quilts are "faced" and without traditional borders.
