Tumbling Block Scrap Quilt

Ephesians 4:4
"You were all called to travel on the same road and in the same direction, so stay together both outwardly and inwardly.  Everything you are, think and do, is permeated in Oneness."

Have you been enjoying the Bloggers Quilt Festival?  I have.  I love seeing all the different quilts and how quilters express themselves.  This year, Amy decided to break the quilts into categories.  With that in mind, she invited bloggers to enter two quilts.  So not only am I entering my Birdhouses and Lilies in the Art quilt category, I would like to enter my Tumbling Blocks into the scrap quilt catagory.

And what a scrap quilt it is.  Ephesians 4:4 consist of 4200 pieces - yes, that's right - over four thousand different hand pieced  rhomboids.  It took me 5 years, but I managed to English Paper piece these little tumbling blocks (each rhomboid is under 2") in this study in value.  The whole story is blogged out here.  Needless to say, this quilt was an exercise in patience.

This is the first time that I've gotten an indoor photo since its such a monster.  Normally it resides on our guest room bed. But now that I have a monster design board, I can finally get a photo.

This is the only quilt that  I've done entirely by hand.  And I said, "Never Again!"  Well that is, until I started the pinwheel quilt. Hmmmmm, I should take  that out and start working on that again!

Please make sure you visit all the great categories  of the Blogger's Quilt show at Amy's Creativeside and since this is literally on my Design Wall - I'm linking to Design Wall Monday at Judy's Patchwork Times.

  14. All that patience paid off. What a stunning quilt! I like how each block is a work of art that combines into a great work of art -- very reflective of your theme verse for the quilt title.
