Praise Ladies Completed - Design Wall Monday

John 4:24
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.
Praise Ladies II
2013

Okay, I'll admit it.  I procrastinate.  I try not . . . honest.  I set up lists - make plans to do the work - but still all and all - nothing gets me motivated like a deadline.  That's exactly what happen with the Praise Ladies.  Now in all fairness, I did realize that my work schedule gave me two full days to sew without interruption.  But. OMG.  I had no idea it would take me two complete days.

Honestly!  How could I have missed the fact that I had a good 20 hours left on this quilt?  Still - it did get done. Ohhh and safely entered on time for the jury process of Sacred Threads.   Really, the truth is, once I started finishing up the stitching, I decided I wanted to add much  more than I originally planned.  Hmmm - I don't know why  - it just seemed the ladies needed a little extra attention.

So here are the stats:
  • 26" by 45"
  • hand dyed cotton (by me!) & organza
  • machine pieced, machine quilted
  • rough edge appliqued
  • Poly, rayon, cotton thread
  •  Original design, 2nd in series
  • approx 75 hrs

I'm so glad to get this done.  Now onto the next deadline - Signs, Signs needs to be done by March 24th!!  Ohhhh will I NEVER learn??

  10. Of course the sign of every good artist is their ability to make a project bigger as they get closer to the deadline. And ladies always need more attention than men. Good job on this and congratulations ahead of time.

  17. What? I'm not the only one who procrastinated? I set myself a big goal this year of completing an entry for Sacred Threads. The first thing I've ever entered into anything. Even set myself a personal deadline of Jan. 9 to make sure I'd be done on time. And I still pulled an all-nighter right before the entry deadline to get it done!

    Your Praise Ladies are wonderful!
