So I guess the stars aligned this year, and I've finally managed to enter my Christmas Wall hanging in Michelle's 2012 Christmas Quilt Show. Well - its really not strictly a Christmas piece - its more of a winter wallhanging. I designed it so that it could go up in my family room starting after Thanksgiving and would stay up till March.
I was so happy to finish it. I learned a few things with it - including how to make a stand alone thread applique. It was a lot easier than I thought - but OMG it uses a lot of thread. Also, I hand dyed the border in the middle of winter, which I don't normally do since our house is usually under 70 degrees that time of year. All in all, it was project that started off small - ended up big - was a pleasure to do.
If you're interested you can see the whole wallhanging's saga here.
