One afternoon the lady of the house took me to a stately home -- converted to an art gallery -- ostensibly to "see the Gainsboroughs". I went; I saw; I wasn't impressed. However, as we got separated in the gallery, I found myself at the doorway of a small room hung with paintings. Directly across from me at the door was a Rembrandt self-portrait. I don't recall which of the 90 or so it was...but I can tell you this: it positively glowed against the dark wall on which it was mounted. I got goose-bumps. I've never forgotten how he looked at me from the frame. "Blue Boy" be-darned. Give me a Rembrandt "selfie" any time!Margarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04472013513744969837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4364828980944336570.post-2697592114499941822017-12-15T09:40:07.813-05:002017-12-15T09:40:07.813-05:00Interesting that the post I am sharing is my mixed...Interesting that the post I am sharing is my mixed media self-portrait.Angelahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01579473031377014416noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4364828980944336570.post-12964966597238553702017-12-15T08:28:07.461-05:002017-12-15T08:28:07.461-05:00I would love to go to an art museum with you!
