Why Dye Something Once, When You Can Dye it 3 Times?

These probably will end up being textured pieces in my figurative quilts.
Honestly, I didn't think I would be batching up fabric 5 days in a row!  But as many hand dyers can attest, its a little addicting.  Besides, the weather is perfect for it and we're in the middle of putting in a new bamboo floor so it fits well in the chaos.  So today is Day 5 of this dyeing marathon and the colors of the day are rust, teal, olive, adobe and grape.     Listing the colors makes me think of a Land's End Catalogue (grin).

These might get more surface design layers or applique on top

Anyways - while they are safely batching up in the 85 degree afternoon - I thought I would share with you a few of the more interesting fabrics that resulted from this week.  What Jane had us do after each day of dyeing was to go through our fabrics and judge whether they needed another layer of dye or if they were done.  I've kept to that  and some only got 2 day baths while others are on their fifth.

Awesome! I find that some fabrics I like so much I just can't do anything with them except look. That feeling will go away as soon as I need "that color combo." :)

Love the green/blue top pic.
